Tabootubes ("we", "our", "the magazine") is maintained by a very small team and we try to collect as little information about our readers as possible. This page explains exactly what we do collect, why, and how we treat it.
Newsletter subscribers. If you subscribe to the weekly letter, we store your email address and the date you subscribed. That is the entire record. We do not know your name, your location, or anything about your reading habits beyond whether the letter reached your inbox.
Analytics. We use a privacy-first analytics tool that does not set cookies, does not track individuals, and does not build profiles. We can see how many people visited a page, roughly where in the world they were, and which article they came from. We cannot see who you are.
Contact form. Messages sent through our contact form are delivered to the editorial inbox and retained for as long as necessary to respond, then archived or deleted at our discretion.
We do not use advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, third-party cookies, session recording, heat-mapping, fingerprinting, or any tool designed to identify individual readers. We do not sell, rent, or share any information we do collect.
We use one first-party cookie to remember your preference if you dismiss a banner, and no others. There is no advertising cookie on this site.
Our newsletter is sent through a reputable email service provider that stores subscriber addresses on our behalf. Our website is hosted by a standard hosting provider that keeps standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) for the purpose of preventing abuse. These logs are rotated regularly.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of every issue. You can also email us at privacy@tabootubes.us to request that we delete any data we hold about you. We will confirm within 30 days.
Tabootubes is a general-audience lifestyle publication. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone in that age group.
If this policy meaningfully changes, we will update the date at the top and mention it in the next issue of the newsletter. We will not quietly loosen our data practices without telling you.
